what i'm reading: amor and psycho by carolyn cooke

Now this is what a series of short stories should be. Amor and Psycho* is a collection of short stories by Carolyn Cooke that shows off the authors skill. The stories are edgy, almost all dealing with mature and adult themes, and each story stands on it's own. I really enjoyed this series and it made me want to read more by Cooke.

One thing I really enjoyed about these stories were how many of them were centered around female characters who were unique, diverse, and had depth to them. So often writers play it safe with female characters and this series does not do that at all. I loved seeing such unique characters and reading their stories.
